The Queen Contest is held at State Finals every year. The contestants compete and are judged in 7 categories: Modeling; Personality; Appearance; Two-Minute Speech; Impromptu Speech; Horsemanship; and Personal Interview. The contestants are graded on their performance by six judges. The contestants are announced and participate in all Grand Entries at State Finals. She is crowned in a ceremony prior to the short-go of State Finals and leads her first Grand Entry immediately following her crowning. The Queen is responsible for taking the sponsorship flags home from State Finals as she immediately assumes all KHSRA Queen responsibilities. The KHSRA Queen will represent the organization at the National High School Rodeo Queen Contest.
